The information for cadet summer opportunities in 2025 has been received.
In general, the offerings are very similar to the prior year with courses for cadets completing Levels 2 and up. As with last year, there are no courses offered for cadets completing Level 1. There is no cost for participating in summer opportunities, including travel, accommodations, meals and the program of activities. Participating cadets on in-person courses will be eligible to receive a training bonus. Staff Cadet is paid employment. There are some course offerings that are on-line only. The number of spots available for 504 cadets to attend courses is limited and there is no guarantee of being selected.
The opportunities are divided into the following categories and have one or more prerequisites (e.g., training level completed, age). Cadet eligibility for summer opportunities may also be impacted by participation limitations, as may be applicable (e.g. medical conditions or other restrictions):
- Introductory Courses (for Level Two cadets);
- Intermediate Courses (for Level 3 and above)
- Advanced Courses/Opportunities (Staff Cadet, Glider Pilot, Power Pilot, National Cadet Advisory Council)
Participants may make application for up to 3 selections, maximum. It is recommended to submit the maximum three choices to increase a cadet’s selection for a course or opportunity. Participant applications must be submitted within the following timelines:
- Introductory Courses – until February 1, 2025
- Intermediate Courses – until February 1, 2025
- Advanced Courses/Opportunities – Until January 10, 2025
Please see the provided details about course or opportunity details. Additional information about dates and locations will be provided as part of completing the application form. You may want to print your application form prior to submission so that you have a copy of your submitted selections.
